Campus Suite (North Germany)

Got addicted to this food place while living in North Germany. Campus Suite started off as a low budget coffee and sandwich place for students, and quickly developed into a popular chain also away from campus.

They offer various cold snacks like sandwiches, salads, yoghurts, cakes etc., and depending on the size of the particular place also some warm dishes. Of course, there is also a big variation of cold and hot drinks.

For a few months, I used to have a student job in the kitchen there. During this time, many fellow students and friends would walk up to me and ask: “Soooo, how is it there? Is it safe to eat from them?”. My answer would always be “yes”, followed by an explanation that they work with a lot less convenience products than I had expected and that many things like pestos, soups and salads were home-made. Relieved, that the place where they tend to eat up to twice a day was actually good also behind the scenes, the next question would usually be “Can you get me the recipe of the chocolate muffins?”. I literally couldn’t and their disappointed faces still haunt me…
