One of the lesser-known (i.e. not very touristy) spots in Berlin. This botanical garden is located in the Marzahn district and is probably hard to find in any Berlin tourist guide.
The district itself is not at all popular for tourism, but among the high, partially grey, sad-looking apartment buildings of Marzahn, you find this big, beautiful park that offers something for everyone.
Within the park you’ll find differently themed small gardens, a big playground, a cable car, and a labyrinth – the perfect place for a family trip (or with friends, with partner, or alone). There are also several festivals and concerts throughout the year, where the entrance price may vary compared to the regular entrance. Though this place is not too touristy, it is visited a lot as it’s popular for Marzahn and surrounding inhabitants. Due to the size of the park, visitors spread nicely though, so it usually does not feel too full (except for during festivals).
Spreepferdchen’s favorite garden is the Chinese one (including a restaurant that we haven’t yet visited), while DönerBox’ favorite is the Japanese rock garden. But the whole park is really worth it.
