Zuivelhoeve (Netherlands)

Cheese, cheese, cheese – what more is there to say? Nothing. Maybe, except for CHEEEEESE!!!

The Zuivelhoeve chain has about 50 shops all over the Netherlands. The small shops look already delicious from the outside, so that you are (if not vegan or one of these weird cheese-haters ) are almost magically drawn towards it. Apart from a great variety of the fantastic Dutch Gouda-based cheeses (which they’ll gladly vacuum-seal for you if you want to smuggle it out of the country), as well as some goat cheese, they also sell some local products such as yoghurt/pudding, cream cheese spreads and eggs. On top of this you find a small but also very nice selection of foreign (e.g. Italian) cheese, some other Italian products (e.g. biscotti, pasta, pasta sauce), munchies like nuts and crackers, sausages, as well as wine and liquors. It’s always worth a visit.

(Sometimes I, Spreepferdchen, don’t even buy something but just go in for some food porn…) *****update: I have not been living in the Netherlands for about a month now and already miss my close-by Zuivelhoeve shop.
